Saul Newman, born on December 28, 1967, is a political theorist and activist. Originally from Australia, Newman is best known for developing the theory and politics of post-anarchism. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Sydney in 1998. Newman then moved to the UK and is currently a Professor of Political Theory at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
In his writings, Newman criticizes classical anarchist theory and explores how it could be reconstructed and re-conceptualized. He argues for an anarchism influenced by post-structuralist philosophy, including the work of Stirner. He has written numerous books and articles on the topic, including 'From Bakunin to Lacan: Anti-Authoritarianism and the Dislocation of Power'. His work has helped to shape contemporary understandings of anarchism and inspired a new range of anarchist research.
